Project Context
The mine location contains deposits of a naturally occurring blend of halloysite tubes and kaolinite plates. The project encompasses a wet processing plant to remove quartz sand and to produce a concentrated, bright kaolin product that is shipped in bulk in a noodled form.
The plant was designed to initially produce 100,000tpa of kaolin with the capability to increase production to 300,00tpa and flexibility to produce different composition of kaolin for different end user sectors. The processing plant was designed to operate for 8000 hours a year.
